Ridged roofing is, in the western world at least, considered the ‘conventional’ type of roofing for housing. The Utilihab platform readily supports this roofing form and all its conventional roofing materials through the use of simple truss structures made from its standard profiles. However, this is a less flexible form of roof in the context of modular architecture and also more elaborate. It is one of the reasons roofs remain one of the most expensive elements of a typical home. Utilihab greatly simplifies this, but the benefits are relative as this is still a more elaborate class of roofs even for its simple modular techniques.
