Pelmet Lighting is usually an integrated part of the Pelmet units described in the ceiling systems section. Pelmets are decorative elements that line the corner edges of ceilings and are usually used to conceal hardware for curtain systems, to conceal the meeting point of walls and vaulted ceilings, and as lighting fixtures. They usually take the form of a box channel or overhanging panel which can conceal one or a combination of three types of lighting; recessed down-lighting, up-lighting, or concealed diffuse side-lighting where the ceiling is used as a light diffuser. Pelmet lighting is usually used for accent and recent use of LED lighting with them allow for variable color and intensity. Since these are integral to the design and fabrication of pelmets, this form of lighting is considered an integral part of pelmet kits.
