Gas microturbines are a new area in independent power based on a long practical but overlooked technology. Though not entirely independent at present as they rely on a supply of propane, natural gas, alcohol, or hydrogen gas fuels, they are second only to much more expensive fuel cell systems as the most efficient and reliable of power generators and have the added benefit of potential co-generation, heating hot water for hydronic home heating or absorption cooler systems.

The Utilihab Microturbine is a 65kw natural gas unit designed for use either in a self-standing enclosure akin to outdoor condenser units or indoor installation with exhaust ducting. It is cogeneration system which can be linked to the Mini-Duct HVAC System, the Modular Hydronic Heating System, and the Absorption Cooler module of the Solar Chiller system.
