The Laser-Cut/CNC Screen is a screen panel based on one or more pieces of laser or CNC cut patterned material. Thicker materials may be solid with the perimeter edge finished to accommodate different attachment schemes. More often, they would be based on a finished perimeter frame which is mechanically attached to the structural framing and features a groove the flexible screen panel can be popped into. In some cases they may be designed to just pop into the exposed framing slots alone. By using two tin matched screen panel layers, it is possible to sandwich other materials like cloth or paper for a transluscent effect. By using alternating geometric patterns in multiple layers, novel relied pattern effects are possible.
Common materials for Laser-Cut/CNC screens include wood and fine plywoods, Masonite, alloys, plastics, and reinforced stone laminates.
